Mazatlan is located on Mexico's northern Pacific coast in the state of Sinaloa and is surrounded by the Sierra Madre Mountains. It is Mexico's largest Pacific port and the closest Mexican destination to the United States.

Mazatlan is an ideal, affordable vacation choice for the family as it offers something for everyone: fishing, sailing, surfing, kayaking, bird watching, golf, tennis, horseback riding, great dining and nightlife, shopping, music and entertainment. Activities are endless.

Unlike other vacation destinations that were developed strictly to lure tourists, Mazatlan is first and foremost a flourishing Mexican seaport. Here the visitor will experience the "real Mexico" with its rich cultural heritage and traditions.

Mazatlan has a rich history. For thousands of years prior to the first Spanish arrival in 1531, Native Americans migrated through this region following game herds. The Nahua Tribes named this coastal area "land of the deer" for the herds that once migrated along the beautiful countryside.

Mazatlán's people have a deeply rooted cultural heritage. From the moment you arrive, you will hear the Sinaloase music of the Tambora, the traditional band music of Mazatlán.
